London, 31 May 2023. Axent, as part of its strategic growth plans and with the main purpose of providing more connectivity options to its customers, has decided to expand its network footprint in Barcelona, by establishing a new POP at Barcelona Cable Landing Station, the submarine cable landing station located in Sant Adrià de Besòs (Barcelona). The agreement was signed during the Submarine Networks EMEA 2023 in London.
Axent establishes a new POP in Barcelona CLS
With this new expansion, Axent will offer dark fiber and capacity services to the main carriers and hyperscalers directly from the Cable Landing Station improving the latency and its network efficiency.
The connection to Barcelona CLS is an important step for Axent and is part of its strategic growth plans with the main objective of offering more connectivity options to its customers, thus expanding its network presence in Barcelona:

The agreement signed between Axent and Barcelona CLS, owned by AFR-IX Telecom, is another milestone to enhance the integration between terrestrial and submarine infrastructures. For AFR-IX telecom, the agreement with Axent reaffirms the good positioning of the region, in terms of connectivity:
