Spain is grappling with a significant shortage of ICT specialists, estimated at 1.39 million, to align with the European Union’s Digital Decade objectives for 2030. Despite initiatives like the Digital Agenda 2025 aiming to produce 20,000 new experts in cybersecurity, AI, and data, only 4.2% of Spanish workers were ICT specialists in 2023, below the EU average of 4.8%.
